Patient Testimonial: Dr. Grasso: How to find the words to express my gratitude for the ability to actually chew my food evenly, to rest better at night, and to not have the extraordinary pain and discomfort in my head, neck and shoulders. My balance was always questionable. As a child, I was a good athlete but always getting hurt. My Mom and the school nurse were on a first name basis. I suffered from allergies, pneumonia, chronic sinus infection, ear infections, and I tore the lining in my lungs more that once. I flew as a flight attendant for 25 years and lived on Dimetapp and a whole host of other over-the-counter and prescription drugs. I was diagnosed with sleep apnea a few years back and tried to use the machine for 5 months but could not keep it on because within seconds the air would build up in my mouth and then just blow my mouth open. The narrowing of my airway apparently had gotten narrower as I aged. None of my many doctors ever suggested that much of what I was experiencing had anything to do with my TMJ. I am now 67. I have worn mouth guards for years, had my teeth ground to correct my bite, spent hundreds of thousands of dollars, personally and through my insurance, seeing doctors, dentists, exercise physiologists, even to have neurosurgeons tell me there was nothing they could do since it was all muscular and dismissed me as a hypochondriac. I have doctor shopped for most of my adult life. I spent 3 1/2 years in traditional orthodontics only to get worse and be in even more pain until Dr. Steve, my chiropractor, suggested I see you. My general dentist wanted to extract a tooth, which did not happen under your care. Blessings to you for the care and dedication to your work! My health and life have changed just knowing you.
